Nicolas Dalby kicks off his second UFC stint with a big win!
The Denmark native scored his first UFC win back in 2015 to extended his undefeated streak to fourteen. But Dalby could not keep up with the quality of opponents he had to face and was soon cut from the promotion following two straight losses. After picking up three spectacular wins outside the UFC, Dalby’s dream of fighting in his home town and under the UFC banner came true as he faced Alex Oliveira in the opening bout of the main event. Dalby’s energy and emotions were both on high levels with massive fan support on his side. Dalby right away began putting pressure on Oliveira with some solid strikes and found opening to take Oliveira to the ground. With each passing round, Dalby’s performance was skyrocketing. He landed multiple shots from close range, defended inside the clinch and even reversed positions to avoid take downs from Oliveira. In the final round, Oliveira exploded and instantly landed a take down that saw Dalby down on his back for several minutes until the referee stood them up. Oliveira sensing he was behind the scorecard, went for another take down but this time Dalby made sure to reverse it and secure top position. Dalby ended the final round with some serious ground and pound as Oliveira struggled to defend them. With this win, Dallby is now on a four fight win streak. While Oliveira has now lost three in a row.
