Oleksandr Usyk recently responded to Tyson Fury’s claims that their undisputed heavyweight title fight was “too easy” despite Fury losing the bout. The Ukrainian boxer hilariously acknowledged Fury’s memory of the fight and rubbished the Englishman’s claims that the boxing match was easy.

The Intense Showdown

The highly anticipated undisputed heavyweight title fight took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on May 18. Both boxers lived up to expectations, putting on a firework display in the squared circle for fans worldwide. While the action was closely contested, Usyk rocked Fury in the ninth round, landing 14 unanswered shots. However, Fury survived the onslaught.

After 12 rounds of intense action, Oleksandr Usyk secured victory via split decision. In the aftermath, Fury blamed the judges for his loss and claimed geopolitics played a role in Usyk’s win. He even went so far as to call Usyk “a local amateur boxer” and claim that it was an easy fight for him.

Usyk’s Hilarious Response

In a recent interview, ‘The Cat’ brushed aside Fury’s opinion of the match. He humorously stated, “Oh my god, no way. Okay, no problem. Next fight would be easy. For me? My fight would be hard… If Tyson says, for him, it would be easy, okay. No problem. I see Tyson Fury. I see [his] eyes. It’s not going to be easy. It will be hard. Very, very hard. Tyson, don’t be afraid. I will not leave you alone.”

Addressing Cheating Allegations

During the same interview, Oleksandr Usyk also addressed allegations of cheating during the fight. He was allegedly seen using an inhaler between rounds, but he clarified that he was simply kissing his Crucifix and wasn’t involved in any kind of doping. Usyk firmly stated, “The cross is my doping. My belief is my doping. My family, my team, my country – this is my doping.”

Oleksandr Usyk’s fitting reply to Tyson Fury’s claim of an “easy” fight showcases his confidence and humor, emphasizing that their next encounter won’t be a walk in the park.
