A series of turn of events unfolded as UFC will no longer have the services of one of the pioneers of female MMA in former champion, Cris Cyborg. Some personal and business related mishaps against President Dana White acted as a contributory factor towards her contract not being renewed.
Nevertheless, one man’s loss is another man’s gain as inevitably Cyborg has started receiving offers from various MMA organizations. One of them being PFL, as they believe they have someone to match Cyborg’s dominance, in undefeated and former Olympic gold medalist, Kayla Harrison.
Harrison (5-0 MMA, 5-0 PFL) didn’t waste any time to call Cyborg out. “Hi Cris. I heard you lost your job, but if you’re interested, the PFL has a very special place for you and it’s second,” Harrison told TMZ Sports.
Harrison, another huge female just like Cyborg, says they can fight at lightweight in PFL hence Cyborg wouldn’t have to drain herself to make the featherweight limit of 145 pounds.
“I think she would fit right in at the PFL,” Harrison said. “First of all, it’s 155 pounds, so she wouldn’t be dying to make the weight like she does at 145. And I think that there’s not really anybody else out there that’s going to (challenge her). I’m going to beat Cris Cyborg if she comes to the PFL, and I don’t think any other organization can offer her that.”
