Edson Barboza is without a doubt one of the most respected and feared strikers in the lightweight division as well as the UFC. While Barboza has the skill and power to demolish almost anyone on the feet, his grappling has often proven to be his ‘kryptonite’. He is currently on a two fight losing streak and is desperate to get back to winning ways. While usually fighters on such a losing streak tend to have tremendous pressure on their shoulders, Barboza on the contrary has revealed that he is under zero pressure.

Barboza’s last two losses have both come against two of the best wrestlers in the division, the champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and Kevin Lee.

In a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Barboza revealed that he is under no real pressure. Here’s what he had to say:

Of course [there’s] no pressure, I feel zero pressure. I don’t put pressure on my shoulders because sometimes it’s a win, sometimes it’s a loss, and the most important one is the next one. That’s the fight to have — the next. No pressure. It’s one more fight. … He’s a great fighter. He’s a top guy, and my whole life in the UFC, almost 20 fights in the UFC, I’ve fought the best guys in the world. Hooker’s not different. He’s one of the best. I know if I go there and give my best, I’m going to win this fight. That’s the game plan. Go there, have fun, give my best. If I go there and give my best, I’m going to win this fight.
