One of the most highly anticipated battles in the history of Muay Thai is about to go down at ONE 168: Denver this weekend. Two-sport bantamweight king Jonathan Haggerty puts his ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title on the line on September 7 when he welcomes ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 to the weight class that he has made his own.
The scheduled five-round blockbuster headlines a stacked card at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.
“The General” has been near-flawless since moving up a division, following an extensive run at flyweight that yielded him a ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Title back in 2019.
Haggerty has won all-four of his fights since going up, including stunning Bantamweight and Kickboxing World Title wins over Nong-O Hama and Fabricio Andrade.
But Superlek is no stranger to a World Title fight, having reigned as ONE’s flyweight kickboxing divisional ruler since 2022.
“The Kicking Machine” is riding a 10-fight win streak of his own, establishing himself as one of the very best pound-for-pound strikers on the planet.
In the co-headliner, Mikey Musumeci defends his ONE Flyweight Submission Grappling World Title against old foe Bebeto Oliveira.
The pair met in 2021 at the IBJJF World Championships, with “Darth Rigatoni” emerging victorious via his signature “Mikey Lock.”
Oliveira has now arrived on the global stage with revenge on his mind. But to get it done, he’ll have to halt Musumeci’s seven-fight unbeaten run dating back to his ONE debut in 2022.
