ONE Championship is prepared to showcase world-class martial arts action at ONE 170, which broadcasts live from Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, 24 January.
The blockbuster event will be headlined by three World Title fights – two in Muay Thai and one in MMA. Two of the best strikers of modern times will clash for ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Title when Tawanchai PK Saenchai defends his crown against Superbon.
At 25 years old, Tawanchai has been a mainstay since he stepped into ONE. He is four-time ONE World Champion with a professional record of 133-31. Known for his calm demeanour during fights, he also possesses an explosive arsenal.
Standing in his way is Superbon, one of the greatest strikers of all time, currently the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion and #1-ranked featherweight Muay Thai contender.
Last time they competed in December 2023 it was a classical display of striking, and combat sports fans can expect similar things this time around.
In the co-main event, Brazilian knockout machine and reigning ONE Bantamweight MMA World Champion Fabricio Andrade puts his title on the line against dangerous South Korean sensation Kwon Won Il. There previous fight in 2022 ended in just 62 seconds, with Andrade emerging victorious.
Meanwhile, the first title fight of the night will see the battle between Nico Carrillo and Nabil Anane. They will lock horns for the ONE Interim Bantamweight Muay Thai World Championship, and winner of this fight will set the date for a unification bout against current champion Superlek Kiatmoo9.
In addition to these three fights, nine more bouts will showcase exciting Muay Thai, MMA, kickboxing, and submission grappling action.
This event is also historic as a fight scene for the upcoming MMA action-drama “The Beast in Me” will be filmed inside the ONE Circle. The movie will feature Academy Award-winning actor Russell Crowe (Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind, Cinderella Man) and Daniel MacPherson (Land of Bad, Foundation, Infini).
