It doesn’t get any bigger than ONE 172: Takeru vs. Rodtang, which will take place on Sunday, 23 March, inside Saitama Super Arena in Japan.
The main event features a clash of striking megastars as Thailand’s Rodtang Jitmuangnon takes on Japan’s Takeru Segawa.
The former ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion and the three-division K-1 Champion have been waiting for this fight for quite some time. These two will throw everything but the kitchen sink at each other when they collide in an epic five-round flyweight kickboxing super-fight.
Rodtang has gone on record to say, “I will be the one to bury him,” and his 33-year-old legendary opponent will do everything in his power to make him eat those words.
Apart from this rivalry, five ONE World Championship fights will take place at the famed arena.
One among them is a David vs. Goliath battle. The 5-foot-7 reigning king Superlek Kiatmoo9 will meet the towering 6-foot-4 Nabil Anane to unify the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Championship.
Both locked horns in June 2023, where a young Anane couldn’t handle the power of his Thai rival. Now, things have changed as the young gun is riding a five-win streak against top-tier stars.
Ever since MMA GOAT Demetrious Johnson’s retirement, the ONE Flyweight MMA World Title has been vacant and up for grabs. Now, #1-ranked Adriano Moraes and #2-ranked Yuya Wakamatsu will go head-to-head to claim the biggest prize in MMA.
The event will also feature legendary fighters and debuting phenoms who have all the makings of future ONE World Champions.
