ONE Championship has announced that current ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Champion Jackie Buntan will face Austria’s Stella Hemetsberger for the vacant ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title on 6 September at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The bout represents a significant opportunity for Buntan to become a rare two-sport ONE World Champion within the same weight division.
The 27-year-old American currently holds the strawweight kickboxing title, which she won by defeating Anissa Meksen via unanimous decision at ONE 169 in November 2024.
Buntan enters the contest with a 7-1 record in ONE Championship. Her lone defeat came against Smilla Sundell in April 2022 when she challenged for the inaugural strawweight Muay Thai title.
Since that setback, she has won four consecutive fights across both kickboxing and Muay Thai bouts.
The Boxing Works representative began her martial arts journey training under coach Bryan Popejoy in Southern California alongside former ONE World Champion Janet Todd.
She represented the United States at the 2018 IFMA Pan American Championship, where she secured victory for her country.
Hemetsberger brings an undefeated 3-0 record in ONE Championship to the fight. The 26-year-old Austrian has impressed in the ONE Friday Fights, most recently scoring a first-round knockout victory over Vanessa Romanowski in April 2025.
The RS-GYM product has compiled victories over Chellina Chirino and Anna Lia Moretti in addition to her knockout win, establishing herself as a legitimate contender in the strawweight division.
The bout takes place at Lumpinee Stadium, widely regarded as the most prestigious venue for Muay Thai competition. The 6 September date gives both fighters a full training camp to prepare for the opportunity.
