ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong has announced that the Singapore based mixed martial artist organisation is launching ONE Studios, the movie and TV division of ONE Championship.

The news came through Sityodtong’s Facebook account last night. While other details are yet to be unrevealed, Sityodtong has said that the company had been working on the company’s first movie project over the last several months and would be making a “huge announcement” sometime soon.

“As the leader of ONE Championship, my job is to serve our athletes by giving them the brightest futures possible. There will now be more opportunities than ever for our athletes to achieve the life of their dreams, especially after they retire.” Sityodtong added in his Facebook post announcing the launch, “ONE Studios will be a major platform for our heroes throughout their careers to spread their messages and inspire the world. My dream is to create the next generation superstar heroes like Dwayne The Rock Johnson and 成龍 Jackie Chan all over the world.”

This isn’t the first time ONE FC has moved beyond the fighting business. Last November, the company announced the launch of ONE Esports, Asia’s largest global esports Championship Series. The key partners in the venture involved Dentsu Inc., Japan’s largest global advertising agency, along with One Championship. Razer, Singtel, and other top industry players also entered into partnership MOUs.

With Demetrius Johnson as its new face, ONE FC is aiming to make waves in countries like Malasiya, where the government recently allocated $2.4 million USD out of its 2019 budget to developing the country’s esports industry.
