ONE Fight Night 22: Sundell Takes on the Russian Challenge; Full Card and More

Sundell will face her toughest test at the One Fight Night 22 when she takes on the Russian fighter Diachkova. Till date Sundell has been untouchable ever since arriving in ONE Championship. “The Hurricane” has blitzed through each opponent she’s faced. The likes of Jackie Buntan, Diandra Martin, and ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues have all fallen to the might of the 19-year-old.

Who else will fight?

“Karelian Lynx” arrived on the global stage via the ONE Friday Fights weekly series, where she battered all four of her adversaries, stopping three of them within the opening frame. Diachkova’s striking has proved too much for every opponent to deal with, and her aggressive nature will certainly match up well with Sundell’s.

Her knockout potential makes her a threat to Sundell’s unblemished promotional run. And should she do the unthinkable and stop the Swedish queen, Diachkova will become an all-time great striker in ONE.

The co-main event sees two 10-0 MMA talents collide in the featherweight division as Akbar Abdullaev meets Halil Amir in a battle between two highly touted stars, and World Title ramifications loom large over this contest.

Before arriving in ONE, Abdullaev built a name as a renowned finisher. And that hasn’t changed inside ONE. “Bakal” now sits at 10-0 after back-to-back first-round finishes in the featherweight realm.

He opened his account with a knockout of South Korea’s Oh Ho Taek before serving Aaron Canarte the first loss of his professional career last summer. Now, a victory over Amir would send him right into the World Title conversation.

However, Amir knows a victory over the Kyrgyzstani crusher would do the same for him. After going 3-0 against Timofey Nastyukhin, Maurice Abevi, and Ahmed Mujtaba in ONE’s lightweight MMA category, “No Mercy” makes his debut in the featherweight division.

This comes as a strategic move and he believes a shot at ONE Featherweight MMA World Champion Tang Kai is waiting on the other side of ONE Fight Night 22.
