Two of the most skilled and dangerous strikers will clash for the ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai World Championship this Saturday, 8 March.
Reigning queen Allycia Hellen Rodrigues (33-7) defends her strap against debutant Marie McManamon (13-3) in the main event of ONE Fight Night 29 at the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The 26-year-old titleholder was originally set to defend her belt against Shir Cohen, but an injury forced the Israeli striker to withdraw from the bout.
On short notice, the United Kingdom’s number one female Muay Thai fighter McManamon stepped in to face the world champion.
However, it will be a daunting task for McManamon to dethrone Rodrigues, who won the belt from Stamp Fairtex in 2020. By defeating Stamp, the Brazilian became an overnight star. Since then, the Fortaleza-born striker has defended her world title twice against top-flight opponents.
The co-main event features a battle of two young strikers who have recently graduated from the ONE Friday Fights platform. Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon and Parham Gheirati will go to war in a bantamweight Muay Thai bout. Gheirati is unbeaten in ONE and will look to keep his streak intact. He has demolished all six of his rivals, finishing four of them. His opponent, however, has experienced some ups and downs but is back in the win column.
Also, the man with 71 knockouts to his name returns to action. Myanmar icon Soe Lin Oo challenges the dangerous Russian Dmitrii Kovtun in a bantamweight Muay Thai tilt. In addition, several other Muay Thai, submission grappling, and MMA bouts will be featured in the event.
