A star-studded night of fights delivered the goods as ONE Championship took over Bangkok, Thailand’s Lumpinee Stadium with a special edition of the red-hot weekly series on Friday, March 14.
ONE Friday Fights 100 offered up 12 more thrilling contests across Muay Thai, MMA, and kickboxing disciplines as several of the promotion’s stars returned to action live in Asia primetime.
The main event saw Muangthai PK Saenchai earn his second knockout win in a row as he outfought Ibragim Abdulmedzhidov to score an impressive TKO stoppage in the third round.
Abdulmedzhidov left his corner like a bat out of hell, chasing Muangthai down to land knees and high kicks. But Muangthai stayed patient, elusive, waiting for his moment to strike.
That moment came in the second frame as “Elbow Zombie” unleashed his trademark elbows inside the clinch in round two. He stalked Abdulmedzhidov down while hitting combinations to quickly flatten the Russian’s momentum.
Smelling a finish, the Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion swarmed him in the third round, attacking him with knees, elbows, and sweeps. And at the 1:06 mark, Abdulmedzhidov was too exhausted to answer the referee’s count, forcing an end to the contest.
In the co-main event, former Glory Kickboxing World Champion Nieky Holzken rolled back the years to dismantle former ONE World Title challenger Sinsamut Klinmee with a first-round knockout in their 175-pound kickboxing affair.
Holzken was out for revenge following his loss to the Thai star three years earlier. Soon after, the duo threw identical strikes, but it was Holzken who suffered the knockdown.
While the Dutch legend regained his composure, Sinsamut was still unsteady on his feet. Holzken took the opportunity to trap his man in the corner and place right hand on the Thai star’s chin to score an epic knockout win at 1:58 of the opening frame.
On top of that, Jaosuayai Mor Krungthepthonburi, Suakim Sor Jor Tongprajin, and Shadow Singha Mawynn all earned US$100,000 contracts and respective positions on ONE’s global roster following memorable knockout victories.
