ONE Friday Fights 127 Results: Worapon Stops Kongkula, Shumarov Ends Karpinski in First Round

October 3 brought another night of first-round finishes to Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium as ONE Friday Fights 127 showcased hungry international talent battling for US$100,000 contracts during the weekly Asia primetime broadcast.

Worapon Lukjaoporongtom needed less than three minutes to demolish Kongkula Jitmuangnon in their 142-pound Muay Thai main event. The 22-year-old Thai striker scored three knockdowns before the referee stopped the contest at 2:49 of round one, marking Worapon’s fourth consecutive victory and 68th career triumph.

The finish came methodically. Worapon’s left cross counter dropped Kongkula first, then another quick combination sent him down again. The crushing right hook that ended matters left no doubt about the outcome.

Bogdan Shumarov’s return to the win column was equally impressive. The Bulgarian stopped Maciej Karpinski at 2:40 of the opening round in their lightweight kickboxing bout, trapping his opponent against the ropes before landing the fight-ending body shot.

Shumarov improved to 19-3 while maintaining his perfect finishing rate in the promotion. His power continues making him a dangerous matchup for anyone in the division.
