Joe Rogan, a UFC analyst, has a lot of admiration for Alex Pereira.

Rogan has been praising Pereira on his podcast and during the Brazilian’s bouts in recent years. There have been others besides him. One of the most illustrious careers in combat sports history has been Pereira’s. As a result, he frequently receives appreciation from a variety of fight fans.

As a kickboxer, Pereira began his career in combat sports. He then made the decision to transition to mixed martial arts (MMA) after scaling the proverbial mountain and taking home crowns in two weight divisions in the GLORY ring. He advanced in the sport swiftly. With a 3-1 record after just four bouts, he signed with the UFC in 2021. He challenged reigning champion Israel Adesanya for the title after just three victories, and he prevailed. Even though Adesanya won the title again in their rematch right away, Pereira’s luck only improved after that. He quickly advanced to light heavyweight, and after defeating Jan Blachowicz in his first fight, he knocked out Jiri Prochazka to win the unclaimed championship. Then, earlier this year, he lost the title by a slim margin to Magomed Ankalaev after defending it with three knockouts over game contenders.

Even though Pereira is no longer a UFC champion, Rogan still finds the Brazilian impressive.

Joe Rogan lists the most formidable fighters in the history of combat sports

During a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, the UFC commentator hailed Pereira as the hardest puncher, pound-for-pound, in combat sports history. There is only one fighter who can rival Pereira in terms of punching power, Rogan added, and that is lineal heavyweight MMA champ and living legend Francis Ngannou.

“Alex Pereira is the scariest kickboxer that’s ever competed in the sport,” Rogan said. “The one guy above all that if he hits you once, you’re dead…out of all the guys I’ve ever seen fight, I don’t think anybody I can say that more than that guy. Including in kickboxing, in everything. He has more power than anybody I’ve ever seen.

“Except Francis Ngannou, but Francis Ngannou is 265 [pounds], but weight class to weight class, Francis can put anybody out too, but he’s not at the same skill level as ‘Poatan,’” Rogan added. “That dude’s terrifying, absolutely terrifying,That power is from God; he’s got a weird gift that’s just different from anyone.”

In 2021, Francis Ngannou defeated Stipe Miocic to win the UFC heavyweight title. He left the promotion on his own initiative after defeating Ciryl Gane via decision, making him the sport’s most attractive free agent. He then joined the PFL, however he has only participated in one fight with the league after deciding to concentrate on boxing. Nor has Rogan hesitated to give him praise.
