UFC’s newest prospect Paddy Pimblett released a statement after his spectacular debut win against Luigi Vendramini at the UFC Fight Night 191 event which took place at UFC Apex in Las Vegas. At UFC Fight Night 191, Pimblett made his much anticipated UFC debut after being signed by the UFC recently. In his debut fight, he faced Luigi Vendramini in three rounder fight in UFC lightweight division. In the fight, he had to face early adversity as he was rocked in the early exchanges. Pimblett then regained his composure and knocked out Luigi Vendramini in the first round of the fight and proved to the UFC fans that the hype behind Paddy is real.
Paddy Pimblett after the fight talked about his first fight experience in the UFC and talked about his game plan.
“I showed everyone that I can come through adversity, as well, because he did catch me with a nice left hook. I need to stop letting people punch me in the face. I want to put on too much of a show, so I just put my hands down and get into firefights with people … I can’t help myself – I like fighting. So I do let people hit me sometimes, which is pretty stupid because it could go wrong. But it didn’t go wrong.”
Paddy is confident at the moment that he is the next big thing for the UFC and he has a lot in stock for his upcoming fight through which he plans to amaze all the UFC fans. Paddy feels he has got all the accolades to become a bonified star in the UFC.
“This is my destiny. I’m here. I’m the new kid on the block. I told (reporters) the other day: I’m going to get a first-round finish. People think I’m a grappler and I’ve just shut everyone up. I can strike, I can grapple, I can wrestle, I’ve got the personality, I’ve got the look: The new king is here.”
Paddy Pimblett is not sure on what fight he wants next but says he is ready for any challenge that UFC puts in front of him.
“I don’t care (who’s next). Luigi Vendramini was the fourth name I got put forward to me for this fight. Every other name, I said yeah. I’ll never say no to a fight. I’m not a b*tch-ass. Whatever name gets put to me on the contract, I’m going to sign it and I’m going to fight them. I don’t care if they’re ranked or they’re not ranked or where they’re from or where it is – if it’s in their backyard.”
