There is no doubt that Paddy Pimblett is the biggest rising star of mixed martial arts right now, and the UFC newbie is showing massive potential in becoming the next big thing in combat sports. However, the Liverpudlian’s earning from the cage is not as much as the fans expected- as Pimblett himself revealed that he only made $24K in his UFC Fight Night 204 Lightweight bout against Kazula Vargas last weekend.

A former Cagr Warriors FC featherweight champion, Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett is only two fights in the UFC and has already become one of the biggest crowd pullers of the promotion. However, his second victory in the Octagon, in which Pimblett defeated Vargas via rear naked choke, did not earn him the big bucks that everyone expected.

Speaking to Dave Portnoy on ‘The Dave Portnoy Show’ on Barstool, Paddy Pimblett revealed that he made just $12K to just show up in the cage, and another $12K for winning the bout.

“People love just to talk about how much you make, don’t they? It’s what they do,” Pimblett, who is sponsored by Barstool themselves, told Portnoy and to quench everyone’s curiosity, revealed his exact earning figures from UFC London, “12 and 12, so 12 to show, 12 to win. (24k total) and then the bonus.”

Meanwhile, Women’s Flyweight contender Molly McCann, Pimblett’s teammate who also hails from Liverpool and had her victory over Luana Carolina at UFC Fight Night 204, was also present on Portnoy’s show and opined on why his buddy isn’t making the big banks yet.

“You have to pay your dues, but I’ll tell you one thing, Dave, Dana will be getting the money out for our boy Patrick now,” said McCann, who herself made $40k and $40k for showing up and knocking out Carolina.

“That was my eighth fight. Paddy will probably get paid more than me in his next deal,” McCann added.

Pimblett himself expressed the same notion, as he believes his earnings will increase with more fights.

“It goes up after every fight but you are in a contract. Whenever they want to offer me a new one they will offer me a new one. I know what I signed in for,” he added. [H/T BJPenn.com]
