Former UFC strawweight Paige VanZant is all set to make her BKFC debut against Britain Hart on February 5 at Lakeland, Florida.
Paige VanZant signed a four-fight deal with the Bare Knuckle Fighting promotion last year. The deal is estimated to be valued at $1 Million.
BKFC and Bellator were two promotions trying to sign Paige VanZant after her exit from the world’s biggest MMA promotion, which came one month after a first-round submission loss to Amanda Ribas at UFC 251.
VanZant has competed in the octagon as a strawweight and flyweight. Prior to losing to Amanda Ribas, she defeated Rachael Ostovich via armbar submission. Before that she was on a two-fight losing streak, having lost to the likes of Jessica Rose-Clark at UFC Fight Night 124 and to Michelle Waterson via submission at UFC on Fox 22.
Paige VanZant has a message for her haters
After Paige VanZant signed with BKFC, fans stated that she might get cut more inside the ring which will instead lead to damage to her facial structure and as a result, this might hamper her career as an Instagram model and she might lose out on brand collaboration.
“I feel like I have for the majority of my career, and I’ve been thinking about this, why have I kept my mouth shut so much about all the haters and the hate and the negativity I get? My idea is that if you talk sh*t to somebody then you should be willing to say it to their face. And not a single person who has said anything negative about me publicly has said it to my face. And I’ve seen these people in person,” Paige VanZant said to TMZ Sports.
“To me, it’s like all the negativity about my face, like grow up. It’s a face, and it’s mine, and I can do anything I want with it. And I guess what, I’m still going to be beautiful even if I get cut open. It’s not a big deal. I think people are so — it just makes me believe — I want to see the world as this great happy place, but it’s just so condescending just to think of your beauty as important.”
