UFC middleweight star Paulo Costa is positive that Conor McGregor is capable of fighting in the 185-pound division.
The entire mixed martial arts fandom is eagerly awaiting for the former double champ’s return. McGregor is two and a half years away from action, but recently, there have been several speculations that “The Notorious” is inching closer to making his much awaited comeback to the Octagon.
The former 145 and 155-pound champ has also bulked up significantly in recent times, which has led to many believing that McGregor may have his next fight at Welterweight or even at Middleweight.

In the meantime, there have been mixed responses on whether McGregor should jump up a weight class or two from lightweight to make his comeback. One of the responses which came to limelightwas from former UFC Middleweight champ Michael Bisping, who stated that McGregor doesn’t have the dimensions to fight at 185 despite the bulking.
“He’s not gonna fight at 185, he’s far too small. Just because he’s all bulked up, on the good stuff.. doesn’t mean he can fight at 185,” said Bisping.
However, Paulo Costa begs to differ.
Responding to Bisping’s comment, “Borrachinha” took to X.com to reveal that he thinks the complete opposite. The Brazilian not only believes McGregor will be fighting at middleweight, but also states that he will be present there. Along with the statement, Costa also made an apparent dig at Bisping having a glass eye.
“Look at this 👀 with correct eyes , he can and I will be there blinking 😉,” Costa wrote.

Conor McGregor: Will he fight at UFC 300?
One of the biggest rumors we have about McGregor’s return, is that the Irish fighter will likely face Michael Chandler on his comeback fight. Chandler and McGregor, having faced each other as TUF coaches, already have a grudge rivalry between them, along with making multiple callouts at each other on several occassions and the two have been speculated to headline UFC 300 in April next year.
While both McGregor as well as his coach John Kavanagh have not dropped any positive hints towards UFC 300 appearance, whichever event McGregor makes his return would undoubtedly be one of the biggest, if not the biggest UFC event of 2024.
