Even when Paulo Costa (14-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) is taking a layoff from fighting, the Brazilian MMA superstar still manages to get the attention of the fans, courtesy of his hilarious posts on social media, and in the latest one, Costa’s dig is aimed at Merab Dvalishvili.
Following the two fight losing skid featuring Israel Adesanya and Marvin Vettori, Costa made a one fight comeback against Luke Rockhold at UFC 278 back in August 2022, winning via unanimous decision.
Since then, the former UFC Middleweight title contender had been on a hiatus but is all set to make his much awaited comeback this February 17th, against Robert Whittaker at the co-main event of UFC 298 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
It is expected that it will almost be like a homecoming for Costa to finally be back in action in the Octagon after a break of one and a half year, as well as the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas which often had the Brazilian fighter’s presence for reasons ranging from training to having altercations with the likes of Khamzat Chimaev.
All that being said, there’s one thing that Costa misses the most about the UFC PI, which is not related to fighting at all.
Paulo Costa reveals he stole Merab Dvalishvili’s food box at UFC PI
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Costa revealed that at the UFC PI, he would steal the 2nd ranked bantamweight fighter Merab Dvalishvili’s food, containing the “tasteful” rice and shrimps.
What I miss most about Las Vegas is the Merab food at UFC PI that I usually steal 🥲 .rice and shrimps is so tasteful

Responding to a fan in the comments, Costa revealed that at that time the food bopx labelled “Merab” got him curious because he claims he had no idea about who the Georgian 135-pounder was.
Ufc pi make boxes and name it for every athlete. I always gets “Merab” food box cause at that time I was asking who ta fuck is Merab. I real didn’t know an the food was good

There were some fans who came up with some hilarious comments regarding Costa’s story.
“lmao, explains why he’s so short” wrote one fan.
Another fan commented, “paulo why do you steal from little merab”
“Do you put him in your pocket while you steal his food?” asked another.
Merab, who is currently on a 9 fight win streak and has Petr Yan in his last outing, will be in action on the same night as Costa, facing the former double champion Henry Cejudo on the undercard of UFC 298.
