Over the course of his professional MMA career, Conor McGregor has locked horns with many notable fighters. And throughout this journey, John Kavanagh has been in the corner of McGregor.

Kavanagh has seen it all and he has a good idea on who the best opponent for Conor is. While talking on Joe Rogan’s podcast, Kavanagh revealed the same. He noted that the perfect fighter to push McGregor to his limits was Nate Diaz.
Conor McGregor and Diaz have fought two times so far. The first fight happened back in UFC 196 in March 2016. Diaz managed to submit McGregor in the showdown and subsequently, UFC booked the second fight for UFC 202. This time around, it was McGregor that came out on top with a five-round decision victory.
Kavanagh had high praise for Diaz and said that Nate would bring the best out of Conor.
“Him and Diaz is a great personality match-up, it’s such a great skill clash. If I was to design someone who would bring the best out of Conor, who could hit back, take a big shot and put up with the trash talk. It’s a beautiful fight. I’d love to see that rematch,” he said.
