Former UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan states that the UFC didn’t want the bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling, to headline an event that’s why they moved the fight, but Sterling denies these claims and says Yan hasn’t been vaccinated yet. UFC Bantamweight champion Aljamian Sterling was supposed to defend his bantamweight title against former champion Petr Yan at UFC 272 but the fight was removed from the event and moved to UFC 273. The event will take place on April 9, 2022, in a location that is to be determined. Now both the fighter are accusing each other of the fight getting rescheduled to a different card.
The fight was first scheduled for UFC 272 which will take place on March 5, 2022, at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada, part of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Area, United States. A UFC Featherweight Championship trilogy fight between current champion Alexander Volkanovski and former champion Max Holloway was expected to headline the event. Max Holloway pulled out of the fight citing an injury and is replaced by Chan Sung Jung. Sterling and Yan were supposed to fight in the co-main event spot but due to unknown reasons, both these fights are now moved to UFC 273. UFC 272 will be headlined by Covington vs Masvidal.

Pathetic liar desperately trying to look good and control the narrative but it won’t work. I’m vaccinated and ready to bash you anywhere even tomorrow. UFC simply doesn’t want fake champion to headline the event. https://t.co/aPG3WECd5m
