The PFL has had a tremendous year in 2023, which has helped the organization move much closer to its goal of challenging the UFC. Donn Davis, the founder of PFL, recently highlighted the objective that his company is aiming for as its next big feat following the acquisition of Bellator. With Bellator’s roster added, the PFL distinguished itself as the second-best MMA organization globally, and now Davis is aiming to make the PFL a co-leader in the industry.
Dana White, who downplayed the deal’s significance when questioned about his thoughts at a recent press conference, is probably less excited about the news. Davis continues to be driven and focused and not bothered by Dana White.
Davis believes everything is moving in the right direction towards direct competition with the UFC. He previously said that Dana White would evade on something if he didn’t have any concern about forces outside of his promotion.
In the past, White poked fun at the idea of the PFL and Bellator combining and their lack of viewership and ticket sales. He even called them both ‘sh*tty organizations’.
Taking to Twitter, Davis posted a quote attributed to Mahatma Gandhi, which says that opposition laughing at you is progression from them ignoring you.
“Given @danawhite comments, @PFLMMA has achieved step 2 Per Gandhi, just 1 more step to PFL becoming the co-leader in MMA #PFL #UFC #DanaWhite”
