Emily Whitmire (Portland, May 24, 1991) is an American mixed martial arts fighter who currently competes in the women’s flyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Whitmire began to train MMA still young. She was an amateur champion at Tuff N Uff, at the straw. Currently, besides being an MMA fighter, she is also a waitress.
Career in MMA
After her amateur career, which produced a 2-1 run, Whitmire made her professional debut at MMA in September 2015. With a fight at FCF, one at RFA and one at Beatdown, Whitmire compiled a 2-1 , before joining the cast of The Ultimate Fighter 26 in mid-2017.
In August 2017, it was announced that Whitmire had been one of the fighters selected to participate in The Ultimate Fighter: A New World Champion.
In her first fight on the reality show, Whitmire faced veteran Christina Marks. She won the fight for finalization in the first round.
In the quarterfinals, Whitmire faced Roxanne Modafferi. She lost the TKO fight in the first round.
Ultimate Fighting Championship
Whitmire, even losing in TUF 26, made his UFC debut in The Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale on December 1, 2017 against Gillian Robertson. Robertson opened the event with a slight win over Emily Whitmire.
The Canadian, who took the fight to the ground, finished Whitmire with an arm wrench – applied from an unusual angle – at 2m12s of combat.
She celebrated the positive result in her debut in the organization, while Whitmire brought her hands to her face immediately after giving the three pat.
Emily Whitmire is scheduled to face Jamie Moyle on July 7, 2018 at UFC 226.
