Indian MMA star Rahul Raju will face Singaporean knockout artist Amir Khan at ONE: REIGN OF DYNASTIES in what will be a battle between two of ONE Championship’s most gifted lightweights.

Before the action kicks off next Friday, 9 October, Rahul Raju talks about Khan, his training, and what a win over his opponent would mean to him.

Amir Khan is a great fighter,” Raju said.

He has so much experience and he’s such a terrific striker. I want to challenge myself against his fighting style.”

Khan’s fighting style will certainly present challenges for the Indian athlete, however.

The Singaporean has a devastating Muay Thai arsenal, which he has adjusted for mixed martial arts competition. That has helped lead him to 12 victories, with eight of those wins coming by KO. That number ties him with ONE Lightweight World Champion Christian “The Warrior” Lee for most knockouts in ONE Championship history.

Rahul Raju plans on blending his boxing with BJJ

Clearly, Khan can put away any man standing across from him on a moment’s notice. But “The Kerala Krusher” knows that and has been working on a game plan specifically for his rival.

Rahul Raju plans to blend his boxing with his prized Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt expertise to overwhelm his opponent.

“I am going to mix it up. I am going to push him from the start until he gives up – until I finish him,” the Indian said.

I think I’ll break him by the second round. Even if it goes on for three rounds, I am ready for it.”

Rahul Raju is well aware that Khan has been in the cage with some of the division’s most elite talents like Eduard “Landslide” Folayang and Saygid “Dagi” Guseyn Arslanaliev, and he understands that the Evolve MMA representative might not go down so easily.

Nonetheless, “The Kerala Krusher” sees this as an opportunity to move his career forward.

Honestly, my intention is to be the best,” he said. “I want to face the best. I have Amir Khan in front of me and right now, he is the best. Sooner or later, I am going to face everyone, so it doesn’t matter.”

If he does defeat Khan, Raju admits that this will be one of the most glorious moments of his career.

This win would mean a lot to me. I want this win. I am desperate for this win. I can’t express in words how much this win will mean for me,” he said.

With that in mind, Raju wants to let his most endearing followers know that he appreciates all of their backing, and he promises them that come next Friday, he will get his hand raised.

I love my fans so much. Without you, we are nothing. So, please keep supporting us! I will make you guys proud,” Raju said.

I am 100 percent certain that I can beat him. There’s no doubt about that.” Rahul Raju concluded.
