UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture and his girlfriend Mindy Robinson were injured in an all-terrain vehicle accident in Flagstaff, Arizona, on Monday night, according to TMZ Sports.
The former UFC heavyweight champion was driving around on a private road on his ranch in Flagstaff, AZ with Mindy as a passenger when the accident occurred. The couple eventually made it back home before determining Randy needed medical assistance, so they went to a nearby hospital, where Randy was treated for a shoulder and rib injury.
Couture’s attorney Sam Spira confirmed the news:
The actress and recent Republican congressional candidate is reported to have only suffered minor injuries. The injury marks the latest health scare for Couture over the past year. He suffered a heart attack after a workout last October due to a blood clot in his diagonal artery. After undergoing surgery, the PFL commentator recovered and returned to the commentary desk during the promotion’s 2019 playoffs.
The 57-year-old was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2006, and was just the fourth fighter in the sports history to earn that honor at the time. Couture, who claimed both the light heavyweight and heavyweight titles during his career, officially retired in 2011.
