Valentina Shevchenko is just a win away from becoming the UFC Women’s Flyweight champion. She will be locking horns with Joanna Jędrzejczyk at UFC 231 for the vacant championship. And while not many know this, both these fighters have a lot of history.
For the uninitiated, before stepping into the world of MMA, Shevchenko had a celebrated career in Muay-Thai where she was a multiple-time World champion during a period stretching from 2003 to 2015.
Not only this, Shevchenko holds an impressive record of three wins against Joanna Jędrzejczyk in Muay Thai. These three are the only losses in Joanna’s amateur Muay-Thai record which stands at 37-3

As for the MMA career of Shevchenko, she is 15-3 in her career with two of her losses coming against Amanda Nunes. Joanna meanwhile is 15-2 in her MMA career with her two losses coming against Rose Namajunas.
