Former UFC light heavyweight champion and Hall of Famer ‘Suga’ Rashad Evans has officially parted his way with the UFC.

Evans got associated with the UFC back in 2005 when he won season 2 of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ as a heavyweight. Evans stayed with the organization as a fighter until May 2019 when he announced his retirement. Evans continued to work as an analyst till date. ESPN reported that the former champ is free to pursue other opportunities the sport has to offer but is really looking for a comeback.

Evans announced his retirement from the sport after a brutal knockout loss against former title challenger Anthony Smith which marked a fifth consecutive loss since his comeback in 2015.

Evans in his peak however busted on the MMA scene with highlight reel knockouts of Sean Salmon, Chuck Liddell and then Forrest Griffin which earned him his title. Evans also registered wins over the likes of Michael Bisping, Quinton Jackson, Tito Ortiz, Phil Davis, Dan Henderson and Chael Sonnen.
