Rafael dos Anjos recently overcame the odds and defeated Kevin Lee in Lee’s welterweight debut in the main event of UFC Fight Night: dos Anjos vs. Lee. RDA has now described his game plan against Lee as the rounds went on.
RDA revealed that his last few fights against strong top level, physically imposing wrestlers like Colby Covington, Kamaru Usman had prepared him well for his fight against Lee. Here’s what he had to say:
Yeah, I have faced a lot of big guys, top-level wrestlers you know. I have been working a lot on my wrestling in the last 18 months of my wrestling you know. I worked so much on my wrestling for the past 18 months. And I knew you know that something good will come out of it you know.
Kevin is a good wrestler and I was also able to take him down too, to stop most of his takedowns and you know training is always good. I knew he would come strong in the first and second round and that happened just as I expected. After that, he started getting sloppy on the turn and then I started using my experience even more.
