According to reports, Aaron Pico will face Movsar Evloev in May for his UFC debut.
For almost ten years, the 27-year-old was one of Bellator’s faces. Aaron Pico, who joined the promotion while he was a teenager, had several difficulties making his debut. At one time in his career, the featherweight was 4-3, and all of his losses came in the finals. But Pico made a change in 2020, and he never looked back.
The hard-hitting 145-pound fighter has knocked out Henry Corrales in February and is currently 9-1 in his last ten fights. Aaron Pico wanted to challenge then-Bellator champion Patricio Pitbull for the championship after the triumph. But the fight was never scheduled because of scheduling conflicts. Pitbull left the PFL in January and promptly signed a contract with the UFC. In a potential title eliminator, he is now anticipated to face Yair Rodriguez in Miami later this month.
Aaron Pico now seems to be joining Pitbull in the UFC. The former Bellator featherweight contender has agreed to fight Movsar Evloev at the Apex in Las Vegas next month, as Red Corner MMA on X originally reported. Neither Pico nor the promotion have officially acknowledged his deal as of yet. But earlier this year, the 27-year-old reportedly became a restricted free agent.
REPORT | On May 17, Aaron Pico and Movsar Evloev will square off at UFC Vegas 106
The Russian’s most recent appearance in the octagon was at UFC 310 in December. There, Movsar Evloev defeated former bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling by unanimous decision, giving “The Funk Master” his biggest career win. He had believed that the win would give him a chance to win the title, but Diego Lopes beat him instead. Later this spring, Evloev will have the chance to welcome Aaron Pico to the promotion.
