Results of the UFC Des Moines: Jeremy Stephens is defeated by Mason Jones (Highlights)

All of tonight’s UFC Des Moines results, including the lightweight matchup between Mason Jones and Jeremy Stephens, are covered by us.

Over the past three years, Stephens (29-22 MMA) has competed under the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship banner, going a perfect 3-0 and defeating Jimmie Rivera and Eddie Alvarez via TKO.

Mason Jones (16-2 MMA), meantime, will be returning to the Octagon this evening after going 4-0 in his last four bouts while fighting for the Cage Warriors. After winning three of those four fights via TKO in Europe, “The Dragon” was given another opportunity to compete for the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

 

Mason Jones starts the first round of this lightweight bout with a partially blocked head kick attempt. The combatants exchange low kicks. Jeremy Stephens, who kicked him in the body again. Jones first jabbed, then kicked him in the body. “Lil Heathen” has a pleasant low kick. Mason enters with a score of 1-2. Stephens misses with a right hand over the top. Jones scored a 1-2. He delivers a powerful low kick that causes the seasoned fighter’s knees to buckle. Jones makes a partial connection with a spinning wheel kick. That was quick. He keeps chopping away at Stephens’ front left. With a 1-2, the former BKFC star retaliates. Mason Jones hits with another strong low kick. He exudes confidence. Jeremy Stephens gives him a big right up the middle as he steps forward. Jones did a good job eating that. Returning to the pocket, he delivers a high kick. Stephens attempts a large uppercut but misses. Jones gave me a great right. He kicks the body in the front. It now connects with a spinning back kick to the body. “The Dragon” appears excellent at first glance. He delivers a pair of uppercuts. Stephens responds with a left hook after kicking his calf. Jones throws Jeremy to the ground after grabbing his back. Stephens immediately rises again before being pulled back down. Mason attempting a rear-naked choke. We move on to the second round when Jeremy Stephens makes it to hear the horn.
Mason Jones is back to work with his kicks as the second round of this lightweight bout gets underway. None of the three large bombs that Jeremy Stephens charges in with connect flush. Jones has a terrific left hook. With shots, he bombards Stephens. Mason retreats as Jeremy fires back with a large hook. This contest is incredibly fan-friendly. Another excellent right on Stephens’ part. Jones delivered a solid low kick after a nice body shot. “Lil Heathen” makes a massive, over-the-top mistake. He kicks his body. Mason delivers a high kick that just barely makes contact. Mason Jones’s right hand followed by a terrific soaring knee. He’s exerting a great deal of pressure. He makes a flush with his spinning elbow. Jeremy Stephens manages to stay upright. Bloodied up is the native of Iowa. He nevertheless lands consecutive right hands. Jones is in pain. He lunges for a takedown but fails. The referee intervenes so that Jones can replace his mouthguard. Mason resumes using his kicks as we restart. He is moving with unrelenting determination. In the end, this aids Stephens in locating a location for a significant counterattack. “Lil Heathen” with a large pose. Mason Jones returned the favor with a spinning back elbow. This tilt is insane. With a back fist, Jeremy Stephens spins but misses. As a result, Jones is able to battle to the death. Stephens is taken back by him. Round two concludes with the sound of the horn.

Jeremy Stephens takes a terrific right to the body as the third and last round of this UFC Des Moines main card battle gets underway. Mason Jones delivers a low kick, and he comes over the top in a second. Jones rushes in and easily defeats him. That was a wise choice, but the crowd isn’t happy. Before “Lil Heathen” clambers back to his feet, he makes two solid shots. Jones pulls him down from behind while he is still on him. Mason Jones is currently seeking a kimura attempt. It’s close. Although Jeremy Stephens is defending, this is undoubtedly a poor situation for him. Stephens slips away and clambers back up. There is barely over a minute left as Jones throws him to the ground once more. Until the last horn, Mason keeps Stephens under control on the mat.
