Indian MMA star Ritu Phogat is back on the Atomweight Grand Prix and she will be taking on Meng Bo on September 3 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Ritu Phogat was supposed to fight Meng Bo earlier this year in May, but the fight got cancelled after Ritu took on Bi Nguyen at ONE Championship: Dangal on May 15 and lost via a close split decision.
Ritu Phogat then made her comeback after defeating Heqin Lin at ONE Championship: Battleground on July 30. It was an impressive victory for the Indian as she ended Lin’s 11-fight winning streak.
The eight-woman tournament will begin with the quarterfinal round on 3rd September and conclude sometime later this year. The winner, of course, will face ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion “Unstoppable” Angela Lee in November.
This landmark show is headlined by five-time ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion Xiong Jing Nan, who defends her belt against #2-ranked contender Michelle Nicolini, a 13-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion and BJJ Hall of Famer.
Plus, the biggest-ever female mixed martial arts tournament kicks off, as the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix quarterfinal matchups all take place in one epic night. Denice Zamboanga faces Seo Hee Ham, Alyona Rassohyna rematches Stamp Fairtex, Itsuki Hirata battles Alyse Anderson, and Meng Bo goes up against Grace Cleveland.
And that’s not all, as pound-for-pound kickboxing great Anissa Meksen makes her ONE debut against the decorated Cristina Morales.
