In a major disappointment for Mixed Martial Arts fans around the world, the middleweight title fight between defending champion Robert Whittaker and Kelvin Gastelum has been cancelled as Whittaker is out of his scheduled fight due to a hernia in his abdomen.
The News was first reported by Brett Okamoto by ESPN, who was told about this by UFC president Dana White.

The fight was supposed to take place at the Rod Lavar Arena in Melbourne, Australia. Per Dana White, UFC middleweight champion Whittaker will be undergoing surgery today. This was supposed to be his first title defence after he beat Yoel Romero at UFC 225 in Chicago, last year.
