Former ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon hopes to become one of the two-sport ONE World Champions by 2025.
At ONE 172, a flyweight kickboxing superfight taking place inside Japan’s Saitama Super Arena on Sunday, March 23, “The Iron Man” will face three-division K-1 Champion Takeru Segawa.
It has been nearly three years since Rodtang last faced Takeru. Before the Thai was ejected due to injuries, the fight nearly took place at ONE 165 in January 2024.
The conflict is only a few days away this time. Additionally, Rodtang hopes to make history by knocking out Takeru before departing the foreign country.
“I have a chance to win by knockout. I want to win by knockout for the bonus,” he said.
“Of course, both me and Takeru or everyone else in this division have our sights set on kickboxing gold. If I win this fight, I want to get a shot at the gold with Superlek.”

The fight between Takeru Segawa and Rodtang Jitmuangnon has been much anticipated by fans, and the Thai player is adamant that it will live up to the hype.
For a long time, this epic battle has topped “The Iron Man’s” list. He therefore intends to make sure that this matchup lives up to all expectations and becomes a historical event.
“I’ve been waiting for another chance to fight him, to make the fans proud again,” he said. “I was very disappointed with the cancelled fight. We were supposed to meet for the first time since he got into ONE.”
