Roman Kryklia, the two-sport ONE World Champion, is keen to get ahead of the competition after dominating the first round at ONE Fight Night 30 this past weekend.

This past Friday, April 4, at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, the stoic Ukrainian defeated former WBC Muay Thai Heavyweight World Champion Lyndon Knowles to retain his ONE Heavyweight Muay Thai World Title.

The catastrophic performance was only the most recent in Kryklia’s terrifying rampage. He was totally unharmed as he left the ring. As a result, he is prepared to make a quick comeback and is offering either of his two World Titles as a motivator.

“I’m ready to be back in the ring in one week. I’m fresh. I have no injury, and I’m ready. I know I’m in good shape, so I’m waiting for the invitation for light heavyweight or heavyweight, in kickboxing and Muay Thai,” he said.

“Give me some chances to show you my skills, because in my last fights, it did not last for more than one, two rounds. Give me some good opponents. You will see really beautiful skills in Muay Thai and kickboxing.”

Analysis of Roman Kryklia’s first-round halt against Lyndon Knowles

Roman Kryklia is trying to find the ideal performance. He believes he hasn’t yet attained it, even though he dominated the ONE Championship.

This past weekend, the 6-foot-7 slugger recorded his 50th career victory. Additionally, it was his sixth ONE Championship victory in seven kickboxing and Muay Thai competitions.

Kryklia acknowledges he made a few small mistakes when he was juggling different disciplines. He thinks he was a little tentative against Knowles, but he came alive to score another thrunderous knockout as the Englishman pushed him.

“The biggest difference is Muay Thai and clinching. I made some mistakes, and I just stopped doing everything in the clinch because I was like, keeping my power,” he said.

“But in the first round, I started actively, but maybe after one minute, I just made some pauses, and I was waiting for a more aggressive attitude from my opponent. And if my opponents come to me aggressively, it’s much easier for me to get the knockout.”
