Travis Browne, the husband of former UFC champion Ronda Rousey, has officially been released from the UFC after a seven-year absence from the octagon. The Las Vegas-based promotion confirmed Browne’s departure following the completion of his contract12.
Browne’s last fight took place at UFC 213 on July 8, 2017, where he suffered a second-round submission loss to Aleksei Oleinik. Despite his inactivity in recent years, Browne had an impressive UFC run earlier in his career. Notably, he secured victories over seasoned fighters like Gabriel Gonzaga, Alistair Overeem, and Josh Barnett in 2013.

Although Browne never captured the UFC heavyweight title, he came close when he faced Fabricio Werdum in a title eliminator bout in April 2014. Unfortunately, he lost that fight via unanimous decision.
Beyond his fighting career, Browne made headlines when he married Ronda Rousey in August 2017. The couple announced their pregnancy in April 2021 and welcomed their daughter, La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō Browne, in September 2021.
