The former UFC women’s strawweight champion Rose Namajunas was shockingly and brutally knocked out by Jessica Andrade in Brazil at UFC 237. Namajunas, who after her defeat had been a bit reluctant to fight again instantly and had even hinted towards a sabbatical from the sport, has now finally given everyone a timeline for her return.
The update about here timeline was provided to noted MMA journalist Brett Okamoto of ESPN by Namajunas’ manager, Brian Butler. He revealed that Namajunas wants to take some time off to recover from some previous injuries. Here’s what he had to say:
Rose was definitely interested in a rematch however right now she is taking time to heal up. She had a neck injury before her last fight and now is just going to take the time to take care of herself and get back to 100%. Her plan is to fight sometime by the end of this year. When Rose decides to come back she will come back better than ever.
