Rose Namajunas hints at retirement after brutal UFC 237 loss

Rose Namajunas got stunned by Jessica Andrade at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio De Janeiro at UFC 237 main event. She lost her UFC women’s strawweight championship via TKO.

Namajunas was dominating the fight with strikes in the first two-round, until out of nowhere Jessica Andrade slammed Rose on her head and the fight was stopped by the referee.

Referee Marc Goddard instantly waved off the fight at 2:58 of the second round after it looked like Namajunas was lying on the canvas and she couldn’t continue anymore.

However, this fight definitely warrants a rematch, but it looks like the former champ Namajunas isn’t much interested in doing this the second time.

I just want to do something else with my life right now,” Namajunas told reporters after her fight during the post-fight press conference. “I don’t know. We’ll see. I’m not going to make any decisions right now. I don’t know. It’s just hard to keep having fun with this.

I felt a lot of pressure to get back in there,” Namajunas said. “The last fight prior to this one was a lot of emotional baggage and stuff and then juggling a bunch of different things. I’m still super happy that I came here. It was just an honour to challenge myself against Andrade because she’s a beast and stuff.” (H/T- MMA Junkie)
