Last month Stipe Miocic became the two-time heavyweight champion of the world as he knocked out Daniel Cormier in the fourth round at UFC 241 which took place in Anaheim, California. This win gave him the GOAT status in the heavyweight division.
This win led to Bellator CEO Scott Coker saying that he disagrees with the notion of Miocic being the greatest heavyweight of all time and that Bellator heavyweight champion Ryan Bader would beat Stipe if they fought. Not only this, Daniel Cormier even went as far as saying that Ryan Bader was the easiest fight in the division back when both fighters were in the UFC.
However, Bader in a recent interview with MMAFighting claimed that he had reached out to UFC for a cross-promotional fight with Cormier.
“You know where I stand on the Cormier fight, I wanted that fight forever,” Ryan Bader said to MMA Fighting. “We tried to get Cormier [in] cross-promotion, champ-champ versus champ-champ fight, we reached out to see if there was any interest in doing a little cross-promotion. It’s probably never going to happen but you never know. It’s happened before in boxing, I don’t see the UFC doing it with Bellator but you never know.”
“My manager has a relationship with both [organizations] and he threw the idea out there. I don’t think it went too far but it’s one of those things where eventually something like that is going to happen,” Bader said. “You never know. It could happen with us.”
Who do you guys think would have won between Bader and Cormier?
