The world of combat sports is no stranger to drama and heated rivalries. Recently, American boxer Ryan Garcia found himself embroiled in a war of words with none other than UFC superstar Conor McGregor. The catalyst for this feud? Garcia’s alleged use of performance-enhancing drugs.

Ryan Garcia, a rising star in the boxing world, shocked fans when he defeated Devin Haney in Brooklyn on April 20. However, his victory was overshadowed by a failed drug test. Garcia reportedly tested positive for ostarine, a banned substance considered a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM). The test results came in the day before and the day of the fight.

Conor McGregor, never one to shy away from controversy, took to social media to express his outrage. In a now-deleted tweet, he called for a lifetime ban for Garcia, accusing him of cheating the weight and being “juiced.” McGregor’s words were strong: “Sad to see, sad to say. Sad and a bit sick. Don’t come near me if I see you ever, Ryan Garcia. I am actually disgusted”.

Interestingly, McGregor had previously shown support for Garcia. After Garcia’s loss to Gervonta “Tank” Davis last year, McGregor was seen in Garcia’s locker room, offering words of encouragement. However, it seems that support has now evaporated due to the recent drug test controversy.

Ryan Garcia Fires Back At Conor McGregor

Ryan Garcia, not one to back down, fired back at McGregor. He isn’t going down easily. In response to McGregor’s tweet, Garcia challenged the Irish fighter to a street fight: “I’ll fight you in the street”. The tension between the two fighters escalated further when Garcia also challenged McGregor’s training partner, Dillon Danis, to an MMA fight.

As of now, Garcia’s victory over Haney remains in the record books, but the controversy surrounding his drug test could lead to a different outcome. If the positive test is confirmed, his victory may be overturned. Meanwhile, McGregor continues to be vocal about his stance on Garcia’s alleged PED use.

The Ryan Garcia vs. Conor McGregor feud adds another layer of drama to the combat sports world. Whether it leads to an actual fight remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: both fighters are passionate and unafraid to speak their minds.
