UFC’s bantamweight star Sean O’Malley has called out the former two-time Bantamweight champion Dominick Cuz and wants to fight him at UFC 269 in December. Dominick Cruz is yet to respond to this call out but the fight might make sense to him considering the hype Sean O’Malley is carrying with him. Sean is an unranked bantamweight fighter but has more fan following than the top fighters in his division. He runs his podcast on youtube and brings in lots of fans for his fights. He has fought all his UFC fights in the PPV events. He made it in the UFC after a brilliant performance in Dana White’s contender series.

“Suga vs Dom Dec 11?,” O’Malley said in his tweet calling out Cruz.

 SEAN O'MALLEY

Sean O’Malley is desperately waiting for his ticket to the ranking of the UFC. Even after being 5-1 in the UFC with just one loss against Marlon Vera, Sean hasn’t been able to crack the code to get in the top 15. In the last fight, he was scheduled to face Louis Smolka at UFC 264. However, Smolka pulled out of the fight in June due to an injury, and he was replaced by newcomer Kris Moutinho. Sean won the bout via TKO in round three after beating Kris up for the majority of the fight.

Sean O’Malley recently revealed that he was also offered to fight Frankie Edgar at UFC 268 in November but he rejected and instead asked for Dominick Cruz.

“I got offered a fight in New York against Frankie, and I said if Frankie wants to get whooped, he can get whooped in Vegas in December, a month later,” O’Malley told The Schmo. “They want Frankie to fight in New York, so they gave him ‘Chito’ (Vera). Getting the ‘Suga Show’ against Frankie would’ve been a great fight for me, but I’m not too worried about it.”

“Who will it be? Dominick Cruz? Could be, I don’t know,” O’Malley continued. “If he wants to fight in December in Vegas, I would love to dance with him. I don’t think he’ll take that fight. I don’t think that’s a fight that he wants. But if it is, then yeah, that would probably be next. I don’t really care if it’s a top 10 guy, a top 15 guy, a bum on the street. I’m gonna get paid the same. Whoever I beat up, I’m getting paid the same.”

Dominick Cruz

Dominick Cruz has always been dealing with injuries all his career. But he always manages to come back after long lay-offs and get a win for himself. In his last fight, Cruz faced Casey Kenney at UFC 259. He won the fight via split decision in a back and forth battle.
