In the world of mixed martial arts (MMA), rivalries and heated exchanges are nothing new. Fighters often engage in verbal sparring outside the cage, adding fuel to the fire before they step inside to compete. Recently, two notable fighters, Sean O’Malley and Conor McGregor, found themselves caught up in a social media feud that has fans buzzing.
Sean “Sugar” O’Malley, the current UFC bantamweight champion, and Conor McGregor, a former two-division UFC champion, had previously shown mutual respect and admiration for each other. However, their relationship took a sharp turn recently.
The rift began when Conor McGregor included O’Malley in a post on social media. In the post, McGregor called for a “lifetime ban” for professional boxer Ryan Garcia, who had tested positive for the banned substance ostarine. Garcia’s failed test occurred before his upset victory over Devin Haney in New York. Despite the positive test, Garcia denied any accusations of cheating.
In his post, McGregor drew parallels between Garcia’s situation and O’Malley’s past. O’Malley had also tested positive for ostarine in 2018. The United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) suspended O’Malley for six months, but they later ruled that the levels of the substance were consistent with contamination from a supplement.
McGregor didn’t stop there. He challenged both Garcia and O’Malley to a spar, writing, “I’ll bust yous both up, do yous want a spar? I will set flights right now for you both for a full-on spar each … Two little Ostarine heads.”
Sean O’Malley’s Response To Conor McGregor
O’Malley, never one to back down, fired back at Conor McGregor. He criticized McGregor’s comments and expressed his disappointment. The exchange between the two fighters quickly escalated, leaving fans intrigued and wondering if this could lead to a future matchup inside the octagon.

“F— Conor, man,” O’Malley said. “I’ve seen a lot of people being like, ‘Yeah, I bet Suga is sad. Suga is always talking [but] great about Conor, and he’s his f—ing idol.’ He just went on a little tweet rant. F—ing booger sugar’d up, talking s—. ‘I’ll fly you out to spar.’ Yeah, right. I was more sad than mad.”
As of now, there has been no official announcement regarding a fight between O’Malley and McGregor. However, the tension between them continues to simmer, and fans are eagerly awaiting any further developments.
