UFC bantamweight star ‘Sugar Show’ Sean O’Malley still has some beef with his former opponent Marlon Vera who gave Sean his first professional loss.

The moment Sean O’Malley arrived at UFC it was quite obvious that he will be a star because of his fighting style and the way he carries himself as a fighter. Though that journey is filled with lots of ups and downs, he always rises to the occasion and shuts all his critics with amazing performances. O’Malley faced Marlon Vera in the co-main event of UFC 252 Early in the fight, Vera kicked O’Malley in the sensitive nerve resulting in a lower leg injury, and then got ground and pounded by his opponent, losing the fight by technical knockout This marked his first professional loss. He would later be diagnosed with drop foot.

He then bounced back to the win column when he faced Thomas Almeida at UFC 260. During the first round, O’Malley dropped Almeida with a punch and walked away thinking that Almeida had been knocked out. But he was not and the fight continued eventually O’Malley won the fight via knockout in the third round.

Marlon Vera faced Davey Grant in their rematch that took place at UFC on ESPN 25. Vera won the bout this time via unanimous decision. After the fight, Sean O’Malley has said that he was not impressed by that performance though Vera got the performance of the night bonus, it wasn’t something O’Malley considers as a good fight.

What I took from that fight is f**k, Davey Grant’s a tough motherf***r, dude,” O’Malley said on a video posted on his YouTube channel. “That is Chito’s style, just gets beat up for a little bit, and then people get tired of beating him up, and then he comes on in the later rounds. But, yeah, I took an edible so I was really high but I was trying to fast forward like is this in slow motion? He looked so slow. Who does he have next? He called out Dominick, will he get that, no. Dom already said he’s trying to fight up.”

Sean O’Malley is now scheduled to fight Louis Smolka on July 10, 2021, at UFC 264. This card is headlined by the legendary trilogy fight between Conor Mcgregor and Dustin Poirier. This will be a great opportunity for Sean to showcase his skills at the highest stage. A win over Loius can easily grant him a fight against any top-ranked fighter in the stacked bantamweight division.
