Sean O’Malley is proud of his height, and that pride exudes as the reigning UFC Bantamweight champion mocked four fighters for being “grown” but having a height under 5 feet 5 inches.
Being 5 feet 11 inches tall himself and with a reach of 72 inches, “Sugar” known how to be advantageous of his frame, both in an out of the Octagon and in his latest post on X, the 135-pound monarch aimed at four of the biggest names in the promotion- Ilia Topuria, Cody Garbrandt, Henry Cejudo and Merab Dvalishvili, and listing them as “grown men under 5 feet 5 inches”.

While the fact is that among the four, only Cejudo, the former double champ who held titles at both flyweight and bantamweight, is under 5’5″, O’Malley took the scope to deride the rest as well, especially Topuria, with whom O’Malley has been flaming a grudge rivalry in recent times.
Sean O’Malley believes he’s nearing Conor McGregor level stardom
Being one of the long standing fan favorites in the roster, O’Malley earned massive accolades after dethroning Aljamain Sterling back in UFC 292 in August to clinch the Bantamweight gold.
The 39-year-old from Montana believes the stardom will only climb up, and in 2024, O’Malley believes he will achieve the stardom level of none other than Conor McGregor himself.
“I would like to get another one in by the end of the year and be the biggest star in sports – not just combat sports,” said O’Malley in a recent interview with Megan Olivi for ESPN MMA. “I think (if) I go out there and put two beautiful performances together (in 2024), I will be as big as Conor (McGregor).”
“UFC has grown 40, 50 percent since Conor was really in his prime. COVID really boosted the UFC, so I had more opportunities to go out there and be a star. When I say that, people say, ‘Oh, you want to be like Conor.’ He’s the biggest star in combat sports. Of course I want to be like him. When people say that, it sounds a little silly,” he added.
