Bantamweight star Sean O’Malley is all set to return to the Octagon on July 3 at UFC 276 against Pedro Munhoz. The fight will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The news was first reported by Brett Okamoto of ESPN.
This will be Sean O’Malley’s biggest test to date as Pedro Munhoz is a very experienced fighter and has fought the likes of Cody Garbrandt, Jose Aldo, Dominick Cruz, Frankie Edgar, etc.
Sean O’Malley is coming off of a first-round TKO win over Raulian Paiva at UFC 269 last December. Prior to that, he defeated Chris Moutinho via TKO in the third round in a very one-sided fight. Sean won every single minute of the fight and dominated him throughout up until the stoppage.
The only sole loss for Sean O’Malley came against Marlon Vera in 2020. Sean injured his feet early on and Vera capitalized on it with his thorough leg kicks ultimately defeating him via TKO.
On the other hand, Pedro Munhoz is coming off of a hard-fought loss over Dominick Cruz. Munhoz is a very highly rated skilled fighter and has also ever lost to UFC champions.
