The ‘Suga Show’ Sean O’Malley has made an announcement regarding his return at UFC 258 after being out due to a leg injury.

O’Malley (12-1) was stopped in the first-round by Marlon Vera at UFC 252 in August. “Suga” suffered an ankle injury in the fight and ended up being finished by elbows and punches by Vera. Despite the loss, O’Malley responded to his critics by saying that on paper he lost, but “mentally” he didn’t lose the fight.

After being off 2 years due to injuries, Sean O’Malley spectacularly started 2021 by knocking out Jose Quinones at UFC 248. At UFC 250, Sean provided a knockout of the year contender against former WEC champion Eddie Wineland. “Suga” came up with a spectacular walk-off knockout.

At UFC 252, the UFC gave him the co-main event slot. The company realized the potential star power in O’Malley. Although, the fight didn’t go according to the youngster’s plan. He will be desperate to be back in the win column upon his return. Sean  O’Malley quickly becomes one of the most popular fighters on the UFC roster after impressing on Dana White’s contender series and winning his first four fights in the promotion. His most impressive win was a KO against Eddie Wineland in June, a one-punch finish that earned O’Malley a $50,000 bonus.

Since the fight with Vera back in August, we haven’t heard much from O’Malley in regards to a comeback. But it looks like he will soon be returning to the UFC. Taking to his social media on Monday, O’Malley revealed that he will be fighting again on February 13, though he didn’t name his opponent. According to O’Malley, his fight will take place in Las Vegas. The event is expected to be titled UFC 258: Usman vs. Burns.

In the caption of the video, he wrote ” Feb 13th Las Vegas. Suga Show back in action.”

‘SUGA SHOW’ Sean O’Malley takes second place in a grappling tournament

Sean O’Malley recently appeared at a Grappling Industries Jiu-Jitsu event and faced off against famed grappler Robert Degle. The event took place in Phoenix, Arizona, and saw ‘Sugar’ Sean fall to Degle in the finals. Chiefly, Robert Degle is a brown belt ace under the legendary Jiu-jitsu practitioner in John Danaher and a coach at Evolve MMA.

Sean O’Malley may be known as a striker, but he’s grappled competitively several times in the past, notably choking out Takanori Gomi while representing team UFC in the Quintet Ultra event. This weekend, however, O’Malley found himself against an ace in the final match of the day, forced to submit by John Danaher brown belt Robert Degle via heel hook.

Robert took to Instagram and gave a massive shout-out to Sean O’Malley for stepping up and competing in the event. Although the result went against him, Sean has shown that he’s more than willing to venture into new territories. Also, Degle recognized this and expressed a desire to see O’Malley continue to push himself.
