Sean Strickland is one of the fighters on the UFC roster who is never shy from making controversial statements, and this time, his target is none other than the reigning UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya, whom Strickland addresses as someone who masturbates to cartoons.

Strickland, currently the 4th ranked middleweight fighter in the UFC, is set to take on Alex Pereira at UFC 276 on 2nd July, which which will also feature Adesanya defending his title against Jared Cannonier in the main event.
Having been featured on the same card with “The Last Stylebender”, Strickland worded his opinion about Adesanya during a recent interview with The Schmo earlier this month. The Nigerian-born New Zealander is well known for his love of anime and as the topic came up, Strickland funnily opined that Adesanya touches himself by watching cartoons.
“He might be the champ, but by July 2nd, he might not be the champ anymore,” said Strickland, “No man, I like Izzy. Besides the anime, I like Izzy. He’s a tough motherf***er. Besides the anime, the guy probably jerks off to cartoons. I hold that against you. I guarantee you, Izzy, you have jerked off to cartoons once in your life. Don’t f***ing lie to me. Strickland’s comments reached out to Adesanya soon afterward, and the Middleweight champ took to Twitter, telling him about the difference between Anime and “Hentai”.

It is to be said that this is neither the first time Strickland made a controversial remark, nor its his first time going after Adesanya. Back in February this year, Strickland told combat sports journalist Helen Yee that Adesanya is a steroid user, and the champion’s gynecomastia is a proof of that, even though Adesanya claimed it was from marijuana use.
“I mean, Israel’s just a crafty motherf—ker,” said Strickland, “Like, don’t get me wrong, we all know he does steroids, and that probably helps his performance.
