After securing his second Octagon win in Riyadh, rising middleweight prospect Shara Magomedov wasted no time responding to Bo Nickal’s callout. Following his knockout victory over Antonio Trocoli, Shara Magomedov addressed Nickal’s challenge during the post-fight press conference.
The Dagestani fighter acknowledged Nickal as an “interesting opponent” but confidently stated that he wasn’t concerned about wrestling skills, given his background in Dagestan:
“Yes, Bo Nickal is an interesting opponent, interesting fight. He has good wrestling. Wrestling, now for me, no problem. I’m from Dagestan. You know, brother, Russia. Russian men, icemen, no problem. Wrestling, takedown, no problem. Dangerous, damage, elbow, knee, let’s go.”

Originally scheduled to face Ihor Potieria, Shara Magomedov’s opponent changed due to withdrawals and replacements. Joilton Lutterbach stepped in but was later pulled out by the Anti-doping Commission. Antonio Tricoli ultimately faced Magomedov, who secured a third-round TKO victory at the Kingdm Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
With this win, Magomedov extended his undefeated record to 13-0 and received the ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus, along with a $50,000 check.
Both Magomedov and Nickal are undefeated in the UFC, making a potential matchup between these rising contenders appealing to MMA fans.
