The GOAT Anderson Silva is making his return to the octagon at UFC 234 on February 9 in Melbourne to take on the rising star ‘The Last Stylebender’ Israel Adesanya.
Before this news came out, Adesanya gave an interview on who he will fight next. He said, “Yeah, he’s on board with my plan now and he likes it. I sold him the idea. You guys wait till everything comes to fruition. If the other guy says yes – I should say when he says yes – I don’t know, but I feel like when he says yes, it’s gonna be historic, it’s gonna be something that you guys are gonna buzz over it.”
Nobody at that time would ever think, Anderson Silva is the one he is fighting.
Brett Okamoto of ESPN broke this news on Twitter. “Breaking: Anderson Silva vs. Israel Adesanya headed to UFC 234 on Feb. 9 in Melbourne.“

Israel Adesanya is 4-0 in the UFC and that’s just within a year after his debut in UFC. He is currently ranked 6th in the middleweight division, coming off a first-round knockout over Derek Brunson at UFC 230.
Anderson Silva has not competed since February of 2017. He last competed at UFC 208 against Derek Brunson where he won via decision.
