Sijara Eubank is scheduled to fight Roxanne Modafferi at UFC 230 at the Madison Square Garden in New York on Nov.3. She was initially supposed to fight Valentina Shevchenko as the main event.
But soon, UFC found it’s new main event in Derrick Lewis vs Daniel Cormier and UFC scrapped Shevchenko vs Eubanks. Valentina Shevchenko will now fight for the vacant title against Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 231 in Toronto on Dec. 8.
Initially, Eubanks was unhappy about being scrapped from UFC 230 main event, and she addressed the matter on social media, including a few fiery comments directed at UFC president Dana White and matchmaker Mick Maynard.
Many fans weren’t happy when initially UFC decided to put Eubanks as the main event. Joe Rogan went as far as saying, he doesn’t even know Eubanks and he is the commentator for the UFC.
Sijara was a recent guest on The MMA Hour with Luke Thomas where she said that she plans on confronting Joe Rogan.
“I tweeted at him but he didn’t tweet back. Joe Rogan knows who I am, he knows who I was before I said it. He didn’t have to say that on his blog. I thought it was disrespectful.”
“Me and Joe… I am not happy with Joe Rogan. He can’t avoid interviewing me one day. One day he is going to find himself with me in the cage with the mic and I’m going to let him know exactly how I feel!”
Eubanks made her official UFC debut in June, scoring a decision win over Lauren Murphy at UFC Fight Night 131. Meanwhile, Modafferi is currently 1-1 in her second UFC run, which includes a July TKO win over Barb Honchak at The Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale.
