KSW will write a new chapter in the long rivalry between Brazil and Argentina as women’s flyweight champ ‘The Violence Queen’ Ariane Lipski (10-3) faces the dangerous Silvana Gomez Juarez (6-1) at KSW 42 on March 3 at the Atlas Arena in Lodz, Poland.
Lipski, who many herald as one of the top 125’ers in the world, is riding an eight-fight-win-streak heading into this fight. Her trail of destruction include stoppage wins over the likes of MMA veteran Sheila Gaff, Katarzyna Lubonska, and Juliana Werner. The 24-year-old won the title at KSW 39 last May in front of 57,766 people in Warsaw, Poland when she submitted Diana Belbita at the end of the first round in what was a flawless performance. In her first title defense she dispatched of Mariana Morais in less than a minute at KSW 40 in Dublin, Ireland.
With a number of impressive finishes herself, Silvana Gomez Juarez will not be one bit phased heading into this fight. The Argentinian has stopped all but one of her opponents and has registered wins over Brazilian veterans Vanessa Melo and Bianca Daimoni. Juarez also has the moniker of ‘La Malvada’ meaning ‘The Evil Woman’ or ‘The Wicked Woman’, either way she rivals Lipski for both name and finishes.
KSW 42 will be headlined by a Champ vs. Champ superfight between Mamed Khalidov (34-4-2) and Tomasz Narkun (14-2), the card will also feature a match-up between fan favourite Michal Materla (25-5) and UFC veteran Scott Askham (15-4) while lightweight champ Mateusz Gamrot (13-0), KSW legend Lukasz Jurkowski (16-10), and SBG’s Chris Fields (12-7-1) will also appear on the card.
